Discover the Joy of Watercolour Painting – Beginner Workshop Near York Date: Saturday 22 November Time: 10am – approx. 3pm Location: The Studio, Wath Court, Hovingham, near York, YO62 4NN Level: Suitable for complete beginners – no experience needed! All materials provided. Join me for a relaxed and inspiring one-day watercolour painting workshop in beautiful North Yorkshire. Whether you’re completely new to painting or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of watercolour in a calm, creative setting. By the end of the day, you’ll have created two of your own paintings to take home, along with a new sense of confidence and joy in using this magical medium. 🎨 What You’ll Learn You’ll explore key watercolour techniques step-by-step, including: Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting How to control water and create soft blends Choosing and mixing a colour palette Spattering for texture and effects Lifting and scraping paint using a plastic card How to work confidently and intuitively with watercolour 🌸 Workshop Details The workshop takes place at my light-filled studio at Wath Court, Hovingham (near York). There’s plenty of parking on site, and the studio entrance is around the back. Please note the studio is on the first floor. All materials, paints, paper, brushes and refreshments are provided – just bring your enthusiasm! Please bring: A packed lunch An apron (optional) An A3 folder to take home your artwork Any favourite brushes or materials you enjoy using About Your Tutor After thirty years teaching around the world, I decided to follow my true passion for painting. Since 2024, I’ve been teaching art full-time. My aim is simple: to help you discover the relaxing, restorative joy of watercolour painting. You’ll learn practical skills and techniques while also taking time to slow down, play with colour, and reconnect with your creative side.
