Course Description

A workshop to celebrate and explore a starry, starry night - part of the Dark Skies Fringe Festival. This watercolour workshop is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to anyone wanting to explore new techniques. No drawing needed. You’ll create two starry night skyscapes to take home with you. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you’ll explore a couple of easy to use techniques (cling film, spatter, masking fluid and wax resist) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet in wet painting. All materials are provided. The workshop runs from 10 am to 1pm in the main gallery area of Helmsley Arts Centre, Helmsley, York YO62 5DW where you will be surrounded by inspiring art.
