Seascapes Watercolour Workshop
Saturday 31 May 10-3, Hovingham YO62 4NN
Places available
Course Description
Overview: This full day workshop is suitable for you if you have some experience of painting or drawing and would like to learn how to paint breaking waves. Minimal drawing required! The emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and experimentation. After a time to explore and have a play with colour and techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create two paintings: one will explore experimental techniques and the other will use more traditional techniques to create a painting of waves. You'll explore some fantastic and fun techniques (cling film, wax resist and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting. What to bring: All materials are provided and included in the price so you just need to bring yourself; an apron and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful. If you would like to bring along some sketches or photos of your own to base your painting on then that's of course fine. Refreshments during the day are included (tea/coffee/cake) but lunch is not, so please bring a packed lunch. Practicalities: The full address is: 5A Wath Court, Hovingham York YO62 4NN. The workshop space is on the first floor. Please advise any dietary requirements. The workshop runs from 10am to approx 3 pm. If you have any questions at all, please email ioneharrisonart@gmail.com. Your tutor: Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend an enjoyable, restorative time playing with colour.
