Course Description

This watercolour workshop is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to anyone wanting to learn new techniques. No drawing skills are needed. The focus of the workshop is on fun and exploration, for you to enjoy some mindful time to meet like-minded people, and to create and play with colour and paint. You’ll create a series of Christmas cards to take home with you. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you’ll experiment with using spatter, salt, cling film and masking fluid to create unique cards to gift to your loved ones. You will be led step by step by Ione to create the paintings, but if you have a particular place you would like to base a painting on, then please do bring a reference photo. All materials, including aperture cards and envelopes, are provided, so there is no need to bring anything, except perhaps an apron and something to take your lovely paintings home in. Her aim in her teaching is firstly, that you feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour, and secondly, that you to enjoy a restorative, creative time playing with paint.
