Moorlight

There is a particular quality of light on the moors that seems to soften both distance and time.

Moorlight is inspired by the open landscapes of the North York Moors, where rolling hills, flowering heather and expansive skies create a powerful sense of space. Layers of muted greys, soft ochres and rich purples recede towards the horizon, drawing the eye gently through the landscape.

Rather than describing a specific view, the painting captures the quiet rhythm of the moors – the changing weather, the vastness of the land and the subtle shifts in colour that make each visit feel different. It is an invitation to pause, breathe and reconnect with the landscape.
