Saturday 19 July, Hovingham YO62 4NN
Places available
Course Description
Overview: This full day (10am - 3pm) ink and watercolour workshop is suitable for you if you have some experience of painting in watercolour and/or ink and would like to explore creating textures with the lovely granulation technique. After a time to explore and have a play with colour and techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create a couple of atmospheric and beautifully textured paintings to take home with you. You'll explore some fun techniques (ink, granulation medium, wax resist and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting. The emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and exploration. What to bring: All materials are provided so you just need to bring yourself; however, an apron and/or old clothes and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful. If would like to bring along some sketches or photos of your own to base your painting on then that is of course fine. As lunch is not provided, please also bring a packed lunch. Practicalities: The full address is: 5A Wath Court, Hovingham, York YO62 4NN. The workshop space is on the first floor so may not suitable for you if you have mobility issues. Lunch is not provided, so please bring a packed lunch; however, refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) are provided throughout the day, so please advise any dietary requirements. The workshop runs from 10am to 3 pm. If you have any questions at all, please email ioneharrisonart@gmail.com. Your tutor: Ione is an landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend a mindful, restorative and fun time playing with paint. The date of the workshop is Sunday 13th April, from 10am to 3pm.
