​All workshops are suitable for both beginners and more experienced painters who would like to refresh/explore new techniques. ​

​

Go With The Flow: Seascapes.  Celebrate the Year of the Coast, 2023, with a workshop suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to anyone wanting to explore new techniques. No drawing needed. You’ll create two seascapes to take home with you. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you’ll have a go at a couple of easy to use techniques (cling film, spatter and wax resist) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet in wet painting.

Creating Textures in Watercolour.  Suitable for all levels, whether you have some experience of working in watercolour and want to try out some new techniques to create interesting textures, or are a complete beginner. You’ll create two landscapes to take home with you. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you’ll experiment with using wax resist, spatter, cling film, cotton thread and masking fluid in creative ways.

Moorlands.  Suitable for all levels - no drawing needed. Whether you are a total beginner, or want to try out some new techniques, this workshop will support you to create two landscapes based on the wonderful North York Moors. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you'll experiment with using wax resist, spatter, cling film in creative ways.

Forests.  Suitable for all levels - no drawing needed. Whether you are a total beginner, or want to try out some new techniques, this workshop will support you to create two landscapes inspired by the wonderful local woodlands. We will use leaves and  ferns to create atmospheric watercolour images of the Forest. We will also experiment with using wax resist, spatter and cling film in creative ways.

Explore Watercolour. Suitable for all levels - no drawing needed. Whether you are a total beginner, or want to try out some new techniques, this workshop will support you to create a textured atmospheric landscape inspired by the wonderful local woodlands. Why not start your day with a walk in peaceful Yearsley Woods?

One to one tuition available for all levels, whether you are new to painting or would like to focus on a specific aspect of painting, such as creating interesting textures, or loosening up your technique. £40 per hour.
