Drawing on over thirty years in education, we'll explore the principles that help adults feel calm, supported and confident enough to learn, experiment and continue creating long after the workshop has finished.
Why learn from me?
Before becoming a full-time artist, I spent more than thirty years in education as a secondary school teacher, Head of Department and Head of Learning Support. I also led professional development for teachers.
Over the past four years I've combined that educational experience with my own art practice to build a successful workshop programme, welcoming hundreds of adults into creative workshops that people recommend and return to.
This workshop brings those two worlds together.

What if I've never taught before?
Many successful workshop leaders start exactly where you are now. This workshop is designed for artists with no previous teaching experience, as well as those who already teach and want to refine their approach.
Will we cover marketing, bookings and finding students?
We'll touch briefly on these topics, but this workshop focuses on creating exceptional learning experiences. The practical aspects of building a sustainable workshop business will be covered in a separate follow-on workshop.
