Create Your Own Watercolour Landscapes A Flexible Six-Session Watercolour Course for Improvers Thursday mornings 10-1 | October–December 2026 Move beyond copying photographs and learn to create landscape paintings that are more personal, expressive and confidently your own. This six-session course is designed for painters with some experience of watercolour who would like to develop a deeper understanding of composition, colour, light and atmosphere, while building confidence in making their own artistic decisions. The Thursday course offers a more flexible way to take part. Rather than booking the complete six-session course, you can book individual sessions at £50 each, choosing the dates that suit you. For the greatest benefit, I recommend attending at least three sessions, as the course has been designed so that ideas and skills develop as we go. Working in a small, supportive group, each session includes demonstrations, practical exercises and plenty of individual guidance. During the course we'll explore how to: See – Observe and simplify Plan – Compose and use tone Interpret – Colour and mood Suggest – Line and wash Express – Texture and expressive mark-making Create – Paint your own landscape Each session works as a workshop in its own right, so you can join the dates that interest you most. Attend several and you'll also begin to build a broader range of skills and greater confidence in developing your own landscape paintings. Is this course for me? Ideal if you've completed an introductory watercolour workshop or already have some experience of painting in watercolour and would like to become more confident and independent in your painting.
